This Can’t Be It: From Autopilot to Authorship in a World That Keeps Asking More of Us

Description

Many of us are living on autopilot, shaped by family systems, cultural expectations, immigration stories, and survival strategies that once kept us safe but now quietly limit our choices.

In this talk, therapist, educator, and podcast host Adri Rodriguez introduces a systems-informed framework for moving from autopilot into conscious authorship, and toward intentional choice. Drawing from clinical work, lived experience, and storytelling from the Entre Tías y Amiguis podcast, Adri explores how inherited patterns form, why they persist, and what it takes to interrupt them without self-abandonment.

In this talk participants are invited to reflect on the stories they’ve inherited, the roles they’ve been assigned, and the moments where choice becomes possible again. This talk blends psychoeducation, reflection, and practical insight to support individuals and communities in breaking cycles, reclaiming authorship, and choosing how they want to live, relate, and lead.
